Very fresh with ripe figs with gooseberry and grassy notes. Mineral core to the wine which are coated with texture which creates a wonderful mouthfeel. Figs, gooseberry and some asparagus ending with a dry clean finish.

4 months on the lees to create texture and mouthfeel on the mid-palate.

Fresh, pure and clean, citrus, apples and pears. Linear and tight with a mineral core coated with some beautiful Elgin fruit ending in a long clean finish.

6 months, 500L 'untoasted' 500L barrels. Only 2nd, 3rd and 4th fill. Oak from forest Pierre du Bourgogne. Barrels are custom made for La Brune by Nico and Bruno Lorenzon.

Fresh strawberries and Rose petals with a clean dry, crisp red fruit driven finish.

100% Pinot Noir

2 months on the lees to allow the wine some time to settle.

It's all about strawberries and cherries, some citrus notes with a fresh and pure profile. Linear, tight with red fruit and a beautiful soft texture with a long pure finish.

10 months, 228L, 300L and 500L 'untoasted' barrels. All  2nd, 3rd and 4th fill. Oak from forest Pierre du Bourgogne. Barrels are custom made for La Brune by Nico and Bruno Lorenzon.

WHY "THE VALLEY WINES"?

The beautiful Elgin Valley is a cool climate high inland plateau, completely surrounded by mountains. Just 70km from Cape Town, South Africa, it is rapidly gaining a reputation for the production of premium quality wines.


We are slowly unlocking the secret of the Elgin Valley. The range of wines are designed to be  fresh, pure, fruit driven, light and accessible  with all the fundamentals of premium wine  whilst still showcasing the unique profile from the Elgin Valley.  
The Mean February temperature is 19.7C with frost experienced in winter.

The annual average rainfall is 1011mm with 366mm falling in summer.
Apples and pears still account for 80% of the agricultural planting in the Elgin Valley.

It is an inland plateau, surrounded by mountains, situated 70km east of Cape Town 
Most of our vines are 9 - 15 years old, making it a very young wine region.
The parent soils are Table Mountain Sandstone and Bokkeveld Shale.

We are Winkler Scale, Region 2.
Total hectares planted total just under 800ha.

Our elevation is 260 - 500m above sea level.
