Our Story
It is such a privilege to be able to farm. We started our journey in 2011 with one ton of Pinot Noir grapes that we brought in, with no expectation of one day owning our own farm in the Elgin Valley. All we wanted to do was produce beautiful Pinot Noir wines. One ton of grapes became two, two became four and the rest is history.
Sometimes in life your dreams do come true. It is our responsibility to make this count and leave something beautiful behind for the next generation.

Nico Grobler
Vigneron
Nico Grobler is a viticulturist and winemaker whose philosophy begins in the vineyard, where careful farming lays the foundation for exceptional wines. With decades of experience and a passion for Burgundian varieties, he crafts elegant, site-driven Chardonnay and Pinot Noir that express the unique character of Elgin. His approach is guided by restraint, precision and a deep respect for terroir, allowing each vintage to tell its own story.
Our relationship with Burgundy
Burgundy changed our life. I was incredibly privileged to meet Bruno Lorenzon, who is a wine producer in Mercurey, which falls into the Côte Chalonnaise region in Burgundy, in 2008. I have since been lucky enough to work with him on numerous occasions. My wife Christelle and I try to visit Burgundy as much as possible, simply just to see, feel and smell this incredible area.
The biggest gift that Bruno gave me was helping me understand that the greatest skill as a winemaker is to create wines with sense of place, wines that truly reflect where they grow. This is our greatest passion, and it is what motivates us to create wines that are distinctly Elgin.
